Such a rare combination of simplicity, elegance, and truly delicious, high-quality food. When they bring your plate, you already know it’s something special! You can feel that the chef puts their heart into every creation. We weren’t planning to spend much that evening—we just wanted to celebrate our daughter’s first day at daycare. But we didn’t regret a single cent on the bill. Our child loved the lemon sorbet with berries! And, contrary to our expectations, she couldn’t stop eating the crispy potatoes with a tender inside (even though they were nothing like the kids’ favorite chips, haha). My husband and I tried two exquisitely prepared dishes and couldn’t resist finishing the evening with affogato. A special mention goes to the chef’s complimentary treat! Even our picky toddler approved! We were served by such an elegant and humble young woman—was incredibly attentive, reading the guests perfectly and making sure everyone felt comfortable. Thank you for your kindness, care, and for making us feel special in your restaurant!

What a restaurant! We were extremely upset when the Japanese restaurant at this venue closed down due to serious illness of the owner - they were lovely people and ran a beautiful restaurant. Jaspers had a lot to live up to in my eyes. This is restaurant is clearly a labour of love by the owners, with meticulous attention to detail in the design of the restaurant, decor, music, setup, cleanliness, attentive, friendly service, and of course delicious food. This restaurant walks a fine line of being very elegant, but never stuffy. We've dined here twice over the past few months and have been very happy on both occasions. Jaspers is perfect for a romantic date night over tapas, despite the unassuming location. The service on both occasions has been truly above and beyond, probably the best we've ever experienced. My only constructive feedback is that the duck spring rolls should use a different deep-frier to the churros (could taste the churro batter) and have more fillings - though this doesn't damage the 5 star rating. Otherwise, the food is unbelievably good. The fattoush salad was the best I've ever had (and I'm of Lebanese ancestry), the pan-fried gnocchi with rojo sauce (this sauce is so good!) was an excellent example of what fusion should be, the meats are the best cooked meats I've ever had, including the lamb skewers, beef skewers, and kangaroo tail. The five star rating is very well deserved. Thank you!

We went here to celebrate and it was a perfect night. Its such a lovely small resturant where the staff are super attentive and helpful. My partner got in contact with them to arrange a surprise bouquet of flowers and they said they'd ask a staff member to pick them up on their way to their shift - this blew my mind. The food is the best we had on the coast and actually better than a hatted resturant we went to recently in Newcastle. The seafood dishes we had were all perfectly cooked and no hard and rubbery. We're mostly vegetarian and we would have been fine just eating vegetarian. This isn't like one of those fine dining resturants where you have a sommelier and an amuse bouche, it's unpretentious, comfortable and really great food. The only thing we had to say about the food was the set menu we tried had too many very sweet sauces that we had an uncomfortable sugar rush and couldn't finish the tart and refreshing lemon sorbet. I did drench my squid and eggplant in the sweet sauce, so that could be how I ate it. I highly recommend this place. We were also surprised how cheap the prices were and you can grab a bottle of wine from Upstairs Wines, get 10% off your wine and BYO. It feels like a very special night out without the prices that usually go with that.

Went there with a big group and the service and food were amazing , highly recommend. The set menu is such a great way to cater for larger groups. The blackened rump is absolutely delicious. As a coeliac they catered to that beautifully, I communicated before hand my dietary requirements and I was absolutely blown away by the delicious options I had. Thankyou. Will definately be back

We are here as a table of 4. Decided to order off the menu. Food was amazing. Tuna cones were perfection. Brussel Sprouts were a hit as well. We had 10 items of the tapas menu plus shared 2 desserts. BYO beer and wine which was nice. Staff were really friendly.

My husband and I went to celebrate our engagement anniversary, and the place truly had a unique warmth to it. Talia, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and sweet. The dishes she recommended were absolutely spot on — a true delight for our taste buds! We were genuinely surprised and touched when our dessert arrived with a special anniversary message. It was such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend trying the wild mushroom, eggplant with rice, and smoked chicken — all were exceptional. The cherry on top was discovering the perfect pistachio dessert that my husband had been craving for so long. He absolutely loved it and enjoyed it. Loved the cheesecake. Thank you so much, Talia, Lawrence, and the entire team, for the amazing food and heartwarming hospitality. You would definitely see us again.

My new favourite restaurant on the Coast - and conveniently located near my place! This small restaurant surpassed my expectations - my partner and I visited, ordered Banquet 2 and all the dishes were absolutely divine! We are definitely coming back soon again to try Banquet 1. The service was fantastic too, with lots of attentive care and explanation provided with each dish and even recommending how to eat the dishes best. Super amazing, thank you Jasper team!!

Great little restaurant and so close to home. Lawrence's food is delicious, and Talia's service and knowledge are second to none. Everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavour. It is hard to pick a favourite dish, but the Kangaroo Tail just fell off the bone. We will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.
